Pregnancy third trimester fashion faves – embracing the weight gain!

Don’t you just love it when your t-shirts only cover down to your belly button, and your clothes no longer fit your growing body?

Guess it’s time to go shopping…

I’m absolutely loving these two finds from ASOS

Off to a Bridal Dress Fitting for friends wedding at 31 weeks pregnant. I was bridesmaid for her a few weeks later! Wearing ASOS Maternity Pinny Bodycon Dress In Spot Print, D&G sunnies and sandals from Oz.

Going out for dinner at 31 weeks pregnant wearing ASOS Maternity Scratch Drapey Twist Dress and Ruby Stiletto Heel from Overland.

And, for working out I now ONLY fit my FITforever FITbump maternity tights – over the bump. These tights are quite thick compared to Lululemon or Lorna Jane (my favourite), but comfort is key right now and they definitely provide extreme comfort. Baby is sitting low in my pelvis so tight waist bands are out. Thank goodness the weather is beginning to cool down…  32 weeks pregnant calve raises. Top from Fit2BMom (details below), FITbump Maternity Tights and Nike FlyKnit shoes.

It may look all glamorous and comfortable here, but at home I’m enjoying “sack dresses” so, don’t be fooled! After all, I still have to get down to play with my toddler and haul myself up off the floor all the time, plus it’s HOT! Comfort is key.

I’m now 34 weeks pregnant. Having more regular and stronger braxton hicks contractions, so, I’ve started packing my hospital bag! Figured we better get ready for this babe… And, we just can’t wait to meet him!

P.s. I have an extra pink maternity activewear Fit2BMom top for sale, new, size medium (what I’m wearing in photo above, and I’m normally a size 10 top pre pregnancy) email me on christine@christinewestbury.com – selling for $40 NZD. Will ship NZ wide for free.

Hi Christine, I have been eyeballing the ASOS Maternity Scratch Drapey Twist Dress for my baby shower and am really not sure what size to order. I am normally a 2 in a dress, but when I do my measurements it says I would be a much larger size. Can you tell me a little bit about how this dress fit compared to your normal dress size? I would really appreciate it. PS you look great in the dress it is so cute!

      Hi Jamie.
I’m guessing you mean normally as USA size 2? I was a NZ/Aus 10 for dresses before getting pregnant. And, during the early stages of pregnancy I was wearing ASOS size UK10 jeans, but went up to UK12 for the Scratch Drapey Twist Dress as was over 28 weeks by then.
The fabric is lovely and stretchy, so a smaller size would probably be ok, but, I’m glad I got the size larger as the “V” in the front could potentially be too short if the dress is too tight? I’m still wearing this dress at 34 weeks and think it will last (because of the stretch)
The other option with ASOS is to order two sizes and send back the one that doesn’t fit? Might help you make your decision.
Hope you have a lovely baby shower – this dress will be stunning for your special day! Enjoy x

    Hey Christine,
It’s a sweet experience. I will share this post with my wife so that she could prepare when she’s in pregnancy.
    Thank you for this article.
